A Word on Leg Openings

One thing we've gotten a lot of questions about are the leg openings on our Namesake bibs. More than a few people have expressed disbelief that the legs won't ride up without a silicon gripper or power band. With correctly engineered panels it's not an issue if you wear the correct size. With custom bottoms, like our own Starlight Pro+ Bibs, we are constrained by the lack of stretch inherent in sublimated fabric. It's simple - to keep printed fabric from stretching to white or see-though you have to limit the amount of stretch the fabric can have. With dyed fabric - where the fabric is made of already colored fibers - there is little rish of it becoming see through so you can have high compression without binding discomfort. The leg openings use a 2.5cm folded band, meaning that there is not an external piece of fabric that is drawn tighter than the main body fabric as you need on printed bibs. With the compression built in there is also no need to apply a silicon gripper to prevent riding up. Adding a silicon gripper to our Namesake Bibs would greatly decrease comfort at the leg openings, and since we've tested them extensively we know that they are not needed.

We've been in the cycling apparel business since 2010. That's nothing compared to some of the older respected brands but that is still a lot of time testing and learning about what really makes a good kit. If you have questions please feel free to ask, or better yet give us a try.
